Your role as a Software Test Engineer:
Dedicated in-house testing is an emerging domain at Simucube, and you'll play a central role in shaping how it grows. You’ll work closely with other test engineers, developers, and product managers to build the practices, tools, and strategies that will define quality across our product development. Hands-on work with test rigs and firmware is part of the day-to-day work.
You'll be part of our R&D team, collaborating closely with the Project team and Product Owner to align testing with development milestones. Software, mechanical, and electronics engineers will be by your side, so you'll always have the right expertise to draw on.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and executing test cases for firmware, embedded systems, and the Tuner desktop application, planning structured manual tests across features, releases, and system integrations.
Building and extending automated test setups to improve coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.
Keeping our hardware-in-the-loop test environments in good working order, handling practical upkeep and tooling so testing stays reliable.
Testing firmware updates and desktop application releases with a systematic, thorough approach.
Documenting bugs clearly, reproducing issues, and working with developers and PO to get them resolved.
We believe this role will suit you if you:
Have a solid background in software or firmware testing, with experience designing and executing structured test plans.
Bring Python expertise for test automation and are comfortable building or extending automated test frameworks.
Are comfortable working hands-on with hardware-in-the-loop test rigs — you can maintain equipment, swap cables, and keep the test environment healthy without needing specialist support.
Are systematic and thorough, you think carefully about coverage, edge cases, and how to make testing repeatable and trustworthy.
Have an understanding of embedded systems or firmware and how software behaves at the hardware interface.
Enjoy being both a doer and a problem-solver

In return, we offer you:
People-first culture: a range of well-being benefits, including a paid 30-minute mid-day stroll daily, €400/year well-being allowance (sports, culture, wellness), extensive occupational healthcare, and access to high-quality sports equipment for borrowing.
Flexibility and freedom: flexible working hours and hybrid work options. You'll also have access to quality tools and software, and yes, you can use our equipment (including 3D printers) for your own hobby or DIY projects.
Continuous learning: support for professional growth, training programs, and access to literature of your choice. We want every team member to keep developing their skills.
